Who We Are

ALEX COBURN
Archaeologist, Safari Guide
FGASA, Cyber Tracker II Qualified
When not perched behind a 600mm photographing wildlife and leading safaris in the African bush, Alex can be found waist deep in the trenches of cultural identity in his work as an archaeologist for indigenous communities in California, or developing nature content for children with Mongabay Kids. As a trained safari guide and natural history interpreter Alex hosts Misguided, an interactive livestream show where the audience participates in meeting the people, places, and wildlife that make living on our planet an epic adventure. His life, profession, and personal passions are deeply intertwined in wildlife, conservation and safeguarding our planet.

KEVIN O'MALLEY
Founder, Safari Host
Having the good fortune to see our planet has inspired me to share adventure with others. My favorite spots include Africa, New Zealand, Patagonia and the Inca trail. Let’s have a video chat and see what we can do to make your adventure vision become real. Reach out. Let’s GO!

JEFF DASILVA
Safari Guide, Cameraman
FGASA, Cyber Tracker I Qualified
I have spent more than a decade working hands on with animals and wildlife. Educating people about the amazing biodiversity our planet has to offer is my life's passion. After first visiting the country of South Africa I have found myself deeply enthralled in an ever growing passion for all things Africa. Now I am looking forward to helping you experience this amazing place and see the world as it should be seen!

MARCEL VAN MOLENDORFF
Safari Guide, Mechanic
FGASA, Cyber Tracker I Qualified
As a born South African with an intense passion for the bushveldt , it came as no surprise that I would follow an education into the diverse opportunities of our beautiful wildlife and reserves. An encounter with any form of wildlife enforces respect, humbleness, love and the reality of their own vulnerability against mankind. It is my objective to continue to observe, learn, and protect our natural resources for generations to come, and I am looking forward to doing this along with this great team at Mopani Expeditions.
